INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS – 8th International Saulius Sondeckis Competition for Young Violinists and Cellists

The 8th International Saulius Sondeckis Competition for Young Violinists and Cellists will be held on June 22-27, 2026 in Šiauliai (Lithuania) .
The 8th International Saulius Sondeckis Competition for Young Violinists and Cellists, Rounds I and II and Category D Rounds I, II, III will be held in the hall of the Šiauliai “Dagilėlis” Singing School (Vytauto g. 113, Šiauliai) on June 22–27, 2026.
On June 24, 2026, participants will be able to rehearse in the building of the I building of the Šiauliai Saulius Sondeckis Arts Gymnasium from 10:00 to 17:00 (P. Višinskio g. 35, Šiauliai).
The competition participants will be awarded after the auditions for each category in the hall of the Šiauliai “Dagilėlis” singing school (Vytauto g. 113, Šiauliai).
Participants and their teachers will be able to attend the upcoming master classes on June 28-30, 2026 , led by Prof. Zakhar Bron Germany/Switzerland (violin), Rolanda Ginkutė Lithuania/Qatar (violin), Prof. David Geringas Lithuania/Germany (cello), Jorge Gil Garcia Spain (cello). Attention, there are changes in the master classes
On June 28 2026 at 4.00 p. m., a field trip-concert in Šeduva. The participants of the concert will be selected by the judging committee.
On June 30, 2026, rehearsals are planned for the participants: for soloists from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The soloists (participants) are selected by the judging committee of the competition. The winners of the 1st place in category D rehearse from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with the Šiauliai City Symphony Orchestra “Camerata solaris”. Rehearsals will take place at the Šiauliai City Concert Hall “Saulė” (Tilžės g. 140, Šiauliai).
The final concert will take place on June 30 at 6:00 p.m. (Šiauliai City Concert Hall “Saulė”, Tilžės g. 140, Šiauliai).
